John Ross Update

Letting people know that John has gone into hospital today for surgery.

I won't ring the hospital until tomorrow to see what his condition is.

John has lost one kidney already, and the surgery today will hopefully remove the tumours on his remaining one.

I'll post updates as they come to hand.

Som'er Teeth Jones

I've started on my Bajou. I'm rather impressed with the bases I've created. Lots of swampy goodness, logs, jetties and the likes.

Tomorrow will see me start the undercoat and painting process.

I do have a second set of Jonesy's crew, which I am painting for my good friend John Ross. Lots of porcine love... mosquito's to bleed you dry.

Clean Up

I spent today cleaning my paint table. There comes a time when you just can't balance any more figures or boxes and other paraphenalia without having a leaning tower of Pizza and a crash.

So I can now see my sutting mat. I now have all my brushes and tools in holders, rather than hidden under clutter and in between the paint pots.

So hurrah, I can start painting again.

WWI Britsh all accounted for...

I started the long process of sorting my WWI British and forming my Battalion for The Great War rules from Warhammer Historical.

I didn't realise how many figures I had accumulated. The majority of them are Old Glory and I'm very happy with the casts. They need a little work in places, but I'm sure that the figures will in the end will present nicely.

The other figures are Foundry, and I've managed to cobble together a Company with 2 Platoons of 12 men with a LMG.

So the final count is
1 Highlander Company with 3 Platoons
3 Infantry Companies with 4 Platoons
1 Territorial Company with 2 Platoons
2 Assault Parties
2 Mark IV tanks
1 Whippet tank
2 Light Mortar Sections
2 Heavy Mortar Sections
2 HMG Sections
1 Field Gun
1 Squadron of Cavalry.

No I just have to paint them all. Sigh, no rest for the kindly.

Woe is me...

Well the Blood Bowl Orcs continue their season of woe. While I stuggled with the 4 Black Orcs and 4 Blitzers in the start up team, I'm starting to see a more competent team as time progresses.

I played Emanual today and his Rambone's Khemri team. Of woe is me.... Well I did as good as I could to almost stop him in the last turn of the 1st half, but he managed to get the touch down to put him 1-0 at halftime. Second half, I tried my best, had everything lined up to make a safe pick up and pass with the possibility of a touch down. But you guessed it, the sure hands skill failed to pick up the ball and the opportunity was lost. In the end we went down 2-0. Good game though.

Good Business

I'm a person who likes to tell business' I do business with that they are doing a great job! Why do I do this? Having worked in an area where feedback is important, it's interesting to see that people complain more than they praise. It seems to easy to find fault than to see the good job that many do.

My favourite companies I love doing business with are:

Old Glory (USA)
Phoenix Forge (AUS)
Pulp Figures (CAN)
WarPuppy (AUS)

So let people know that you are happy with their business.

My brain hurts...

Yesterday was a day of mixed sorts, a bit like liqourice all sorts.

Horrible, horrible brain death.

Had Dan come and battle for Blood Bowl. My loosing streak continues, but at least the Orcs now have a troll and a goblin.

Pain would'nt go away. Cancelled doctors appointment, probably not the brightest idea, but the pain slowly receded. Enough for my second visitor and a bash at Napoleonics, which I continue to loose at.

I'm now working on my Prussians. I spent today sorting through all the figures, and placed another order with Old Glory. All up I think I've got all that I really need now, just some odd pieces to flesh out the army.

Russians will most likely be the next army for that period.

While sorting through my figures and deciding how to organise my units, I decided to tackle my WWI range. Things are looking good, only a few more packets to, like with the Prussians, flesh out the armies. My British and Germans are looking good. I refuse to even consider the French. I'm thinking that Palestine could be interesting when the expansion eventually gets released.

So, not a really productive day.
