Distraction - Jetbikes for 40K Imperial Forces

Distraction, it's the only way I can keep sane.

I love going through the reject shops, dollars shops and similar mass discount stores looking for toys or products that I can rework to use in my games.  Today I came across Halo Micro Ops and have found the figures to be nicely priced and more than suitable for conversion work.

See for yourself!

I can even find use for the gun platforms.

So I'm going to have a think about how I will modify the flyer, but it should be good (I hope).

Me and my ball and chain!

Well in just on a week I well age another year.

It is never a good time for me, as people will have noted from my posts on facebook.

This corpse will be 51 this year, although I have around a lot longer than that!  Yet in all my time no one has ever done anything for me to recognize this milestone.  Clearly my family don't care enough about me to make the effort.  That and the fact that everything seems to go wrong.

I just received a letter from the ATO saying I know owe them money from 3 years ago.  My electrics in my car is on the blink.  The rear brakes need replacing.  The toilet needs to have seals replaced.  My wife is due for an operation with doctors not commenting about the situation or results.  My son is of the opinion at taxi's cost nothing, that shouting and carrying on at 3am in the morning is acceptable.  My daughter is probably the least worrying, although this is her final year at school, so her future is a worry.  So my fractured mind is broken and not healing as normal.

I look at my life and lament the decision that my family have made (namely my parents and older).  Just how much my mother must have hated me and that her curse continues to plague me well after her death.  That I seem to be too generous to people, expecting them to live by the standards I do.  Though I should say that there are a few people who have made my life bearable, James GG, Glen T, Michael and Jazz S, Michael M, Simon M, Nick C, Simon G, Tye R the Mayes family.  So I guess that there are a few people in afterthought.

My problem is that mental illness is an insidious illness.  It affects people in different ways.  While I may present one face to the outside world, my inner self is crying in dispair. My life is not improving and I just cannot see any light at the end of tunnel.  With the uncertainty of pensions and welfare with the current government my prospects on life are dismal.  I despair, I worry, and I loose my way.

So how knows what my future holds, not much.  Just put up with this mad man, I may pull through.

Digganobs for GorkaMorka!

"I got me sum Digganobs!"

Thanks to Simon Machin for the trade today.  I was really happy to have come by these figures.  While I have all the GorkaMorka rules etc, for reasons I can't understand I didn't get the Digganobs or the Muties.  Well I only need the Muties now to round it all off.

Games played at the Blind Pig 7th June 2014

These are just two of the games that I played at the Blind Pig today.

First was Star Trek Fleet Captains.  An exploration and mission driven game.  A clix base from Wizkids, which I can say works but is really hard on the eyes for an old man to read, even with glasses.  The ships are nicely constructed and I have the urge to just buy the game for the figures.  However the game is worth the purchase and I recommend you have a game if you can.

Alien Frontiers is a worker placement game using dice which are allocated to sections on the board that allow you access to resources which give you access to more ships (dice) and abilities.  The first person to place their last colony ends the game and victory points are scored.  I came resounding last out of four, but I enjoyed the game and look forward to others in the future.

Blind Pig Club Day 7th June 2014

Another fun day was passed in the company of good friends and all. Thanks to everyone who helped in the setting and packing up of the club. Everyone's help makes light work and allows for a quick departure.
There were 35'ish people at the club today, another good turnout.

Games in play today were:

BFG
40K
Warmachine/Hordes
Infinity
DBA
Dreadball
Tsuro
A lego game that Mark R brought along with his children (not sure the titles)
Junior Settler of Catan (I think that's the right name)
Alien Frontiers
Star Trek Fleet Captain
Bang the Dice Game
A Game of Thrones LCG
Cheaty Mages

There is no other meet for June, the next one is 5th July.
A Mordheim tourney has been organised, check WAU for details.
